JROTC JLAB (Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps Leadership and Academic Bowl) is a national academic and leadership competition for high school JROTC cadets across all service branches—Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Space Force.
Overview
JLAB is designed to:

Two Main Competitions

Academic Bowl
-
Focuses on subjects like math, science, English, current events, and JROTC curriculum.

Tests cadets' knowledge and academic preparedness.

Leadership Bowl

Focuses on leadership principles, decision-making, and teamwork.

Questions often relate to leadership theory, communication, and the JROTC curriculum.

Competition Structure

Level I & II (Online Rounds): Held in the fall and winter. Teams compete virtually through a timed online platform.

Level III (Championship Round): The top teams from each branch qualify for the national championship in Washington, D.C. during the summer (usually in June or July). Travel is typically funded for qualifying teams.
